We Need to Talk About Duke Cannon’s Shampoo Pucks

I’ll admit it, I wasn’t convinced that solid shampoo bars were anywhere as near as good as the traditional shampoo from a bottle.  I am a shampoo snob and I just didn’t like the sound of not using a liquid shampoo from the bottle. 

I was fascinated by the Duke Cannon Shampoo Pucks however, as ever the packaging with Duke Cannon products was on point, the shampoo pucks come in an excellent screw top tin, so absolutely no plastic involved.  Each of the three Duke Cannon Shampoo Pucks smell amazing and very masculine, but it still felt a bit gimmicky for me.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the cost-of-living crisis that is all over the news and make no mistake it is going to get worse.  So, I was looking at the products that we sell at ArchieSoul Men and thinking about the value for money that our products offer.  Everything we sell is quality and worth the money, that’s not just me saying that it is what our customers say.  However, the Duke Cannon Shampoo Pucks definitely hit the value for money threshold.

I had a spare tin of Barrel Char knocking about, and as I was running low on bottle shampoo I thought why not give it go?  I was getting loads of comments back from customers about much they loved the loved the product as well, so it was time to try it myself.  I couldn’t help but smile when I opened the tin and held what looked literally like an Ice Hockey puck in my hand, this was about to wash my hair!

I made the mistake of assuming that I really had to scrub the puck into my hair to get any kind of lather, I realised the error of my ways when I created more lather than I knew what to do with!  As it turns out you only need a couple of rubs to create just as much lather as you would get in a bottle.  I also can’t ever remember a shampoo smelling this good.  After I dried my hair, it felt clean and fresh and even conditioned.

I’m about a month into using it now and I’ve got half of the puck left, but I realise that I would have more left if I had trusted it more in the early days.  I reckon I would have gone through two bottles in that time, so I’m already saving money and my bathroom isn’t as cluttered by plastic bottles.

I can safely say that now I’ve tried the Duke Cannon Shampoo Puck, I will not be returning to the bottled stuff!
